Why donate books?
Books are the most reliable tool to spread valuable ideas. They last for millennia and survive technological transitions. Books are time capsules and physical representations of thoughts.
Why donate to Africa?
Conscientiology books can inspire leaders of reurbanisation and pacifism in Africa. Moreover, the multicultural and historical wealth of the African people has countless lessons to teach conscientiologists. The Africa-Conscientiology partnership is interassistantial.
How does the logistics work?
Our team of volunteers liaises with African libraries to arrange the book donation process. Books are packed and shipped to Africa. Upon receiving the parcel, the librarians confirm that the books were catalogued and available for readers.
How expensive is the shipping?
Does BiblioAfrica provide funds to its staff?
US$ 150 is the average cost to ship 1 Léxico de Ortopensatas from our headquarters in Brazil to Africa. This amount essentially encompasses overseas courier costs (DHL, FedEX, etc).
No. BiblioAfrica is a non-profit organisation. We are 100% supported by volunteers. The volunteers pay for their travel expenses when donating book overseas. Most of them are also donors.
Where do the books go?
All books are donated to African public libraries and university libraries. We prioritise sending books to national libraries and bigger libraries.
